I think this is PJ's best album since Is This Desire? Yet, the mood/tone of it has really got me depressed. Anyone else got any reaction to it?

Re: White Chalk
Sun, October 14, 2007 - 4:51 PMI find her suicidal sounding album actually quite comforting, like a grilled cheese sandwich and soup. It's rare to hear music so honest, personally intimate as White Chalk.
Btw, at her concert in NY, she was amazingly in good form and there were no razor blades given, as you left the building. -

Thu, November 15, 2007 - 9:10 PMI'm gonna have to listen to it again.... it hasn't really 'hit' me... I find the whole thing a bit... I dunno, flat. I think it's hard to live up to 'Uhuh her' though - personally think that was her best album since the 'rid of me/dry' era. But that's just me :-) -

Re: White Chalk
Thu, January 3, 2008 - 9:20 AMI definitely have to listen to it more. At first, I found it very mellow, melancholy and dark which made me shine away from it b/c that wasn't the mood of music for me at the time. But I think I need to listen to it a few more times. Her voice is so mesmerizing to me and this album brings that out more, especially the "white chalk" track.
